A baptism, an upcoming transfer, and a little bit of sickness...

Image
Luke had a great week, although he has still been battling sickness.  He would work all day and by evening he had a fever again and would be so exhausted and crash!  His fever even got up to 103 one day!  So he is going to check in with the doctor this week and I'm hoping they can help him get over this crud. Saturday was exciting for he and his companion because their friend Alexis got baptized!!!   And then they continued to meet with the cute couple Ernesto and Ramona.  They were so sad to hear that Elder Steuer is leaving.  They took them to lunch on Monday and I got to face time with them and meet them!  That was so fun and they went on and on about how much they love Luke and that he is like a grandson to them.  Elder Steuer gave Ernesto a tie that has an eagle and an American flag on it.  He told him to wear it the day of his baptism.  Then Ernesto gave one to Elder Steuer and on to Luke :)   They are still me...

Sick Week :(

This picture just breaks my heart!  Poor Luke was sick this week.  He had all kinds of symptoms, fever, aches, sore throat, diarrhea, etc.  So most of the week he was home in bed.  He said on Wednesday he felt so horrible he was sure he was going to be sent home.  He felt like he was hallucinating!  He wanted to pick up the phone and call me.  Poor Baby!!!! He sounded much better today and so I think he is on the mend!  Thank goodness.  So because they couldn't go out not much happened.  He did say Ernesto and Ramona are supposed to go get their marriage certificate paperwork figured out today and then they will be getting married and Luke and his companion get to be witnesses!  So exciting! They met a new lady named Marina that is golden.  They were looking at past records and saw a yellow dot meaning someone had contacted someone so they went to follow up.  They actually couldn't find the person but Marina was the neighb...

Zone Conference & Baby blessings

We just got to talk to Luke for a short time today.  He said it was another busy and great week.  They had 11 people at church yesterday!!!  That is amazing!  And he said there were a couple of families missing that could have been there too!  Wow!  And he loves how great the ward is about missionary work.  They really embrace their investigators and sit with them and make them feel so welcome. One funny thing that happened at church (that you would never see here in the States...)  all of a sudden a member of the Bishopric stood up and said they had a lot of babies in the ward that had not been blessed to anyone who wanted to could bring their baby up for their blessing!  What in the world??? :)  ha ha ha!  So they had about 4 people bring up their babies and then all of a sudden their investigator Brenda asked if she could take her 4 year up there.  So she did :)  So they said her name on the records of the church ...

What a week...busiest yet!

Luke had a LOT to talk about today!!!!  He started telling us about his busiest day yet, Saturday.  They helped the Stake with youth activity where they were on mock missions and they were in the mini MTC.  They split them up in groups of about 10-12 people and they rotated classes.  So Luke and his companion had the opportunity to teach all the kids about baptism.  They were in the mini MTC all day from 7:30 am-3:30 pm.  After all the classes they took the kids out and had them go tracting.  Luke thought they would be shy, but they were out passing out Books of Mormon, pamphlets, etc. and they had no fear! It started to get late and Luke was stressing out a bit because they were supposed to meet their friend Facundo at 4:00 so they could review things before his interview and then baptism at 6:30.  They were a little doubtful that he would even show up because they hadn't had much contact with him during the week because he doesn't have a c...
