Elder Rose - Argentina Resistencia Mission Nov. 2021 - Nov. 2023

 We got to talk to Luke last night for Easter and so today's call was more of a catch up and a couple of surprise guests!  While we were talking to Luke he got a video from Brynlie of cute little Brigham.  So Luke decided to add her to our call.  It was so fun to sit and catch up with her for a few minutes....and then all of a sudden Carver showed up to Emma's apartment so we got to talk to him!  I love hearing Luke and Carver laugh together and reminisce.  And then all of a sudden he and Emma went outside and low and behold there's Luke's old friend Carter!!!!  Carter is getting married in May so it was fun to hear them give him a bad time and catch up.   So we didn't hear much about the mission except it's so exciting because Sofia is getting baptized on Saturday!  That will be a special day!   And here's a bunch of pictures...most I have no idea what's going on but it was fun to get pictures with Elder Backman in them! ...

Luke sounded SOOOO excited to be serving with Elder Backman.  They have been friends through out the mission and he absolutely LOVES him!   A little about him....he has lived in Russia (for about 6 years I think) and Germany.  His parents are now in Washington.  He plays the guitar and he has a sister that is getting married in the Rome temple after he gets home.  In fact you have to be married civilly first in Italy and so Elder Backman is going to marry them before they are sealed.  Elder Backman has brought excitement about being a ZL back to Luke.  Luke was ready to be released as a ZL, but now he is excited because they are trying some new organizational tools and he is pumped.  Grateful Luke has a companion that he loves :) Luke reported that Gustavo and Natalia are still doing great.  They have an appointment to get married on May 5th and a baptismal date for May 6th!  So exciting!  They are just part of the ward now....

 Luke was excited to announce that he finished the Book of Mormon in Spanish for his first time!!!!  What a great accomplishment!  And he highlighted references to Christ and so now his scripture marking pencils are worn and well used :) Gustavo and Natalia are doing great and it feels like they are just one of the ward members now.  The bishop told them the ward would love to help put on a wedding for them and so that is going to be exciting and one step closer to baptism!  Luke said they saw miracles with them this week.  For example they invited one member to meet with them and come to find out the lady is a school teacher and has worked with kids with autism and so she completely understood their circumstance with their autistic son.  God really knows how to put the right people in the right place for his work to move forward!!!   Well transfers are actually happening today and so Elder Childs is leaving.  :(  I know he and Luke...
