Counting down the weeks...

Poor Luke was sick this week :(  Diarrhea :(  But he was in good spirits when we talked to him.  In fact we got exciting news this week....Luke called and said there is some kind of conference the weekend of Sept. 8th so the missionaries couldn't travel at that time.  So Luke had to decide if he wanted to go home Sept. 1 or Sept. 15.  He called to ask us....Well duh!  That's a no brainer!  Of course I wanted him home earlier.  But I really wanted it to be his decision.  So I tried to act like it didn't matter.  But when he finally decided to come home Sept. 1st I screamed!!!  IT'S SO CLOSE!  I can't believe it!  I'm sure we are making him trunky because all we talk about is when he comes home....we showed him his room (we made the playroom his bedroom), we got him a new phone, we unpacked all of his stuff, etc.

Luckily he is way too busy to get trunky :)  He showed us his calendar for the next 4 weeks and it is packed with conferences, exchanges, and meetings.  What an exciting way to end your mission.

Luke had to say goodbye to some of his closest missionary friends this week...Elder Packer, Elder Steuer, Elder Backman....  He said it wasn't too hard because they know they'll see each other again.  But so weird to have your friends leave!  But he also got to be at the airport to welcome the new missionaries!  14 new missionaries came!  So exciting!

It was a tough week, Luke's area is so hard.  People are constantly cancelling plans or standing them up.  One highlight is that Manuel got the Priesthood this week!  So awesome!

Only 4 more phone calls until we get to be together!
