Prayers answered and preparations....
Luke and Elder Suarez fasted to be able to find more people and this week their prayers were answered! They found 2 people to start teaching. One of them, Marcos, they just contacted on the street. They were able to teach him AND he came to church. AND he was introduced to some members that invited him to institute. So he is already getting fellowshipped, which is good because this week Luke and Elder Suarez are not going to be in their area much as they welcome in the new president and tour the mission. So Marcos is in good hands!
It was quite the week for Luke and Elder Suarez as they are getting ready to say goodbye to the Rebers and welcome in the Barlow's. Lots to think about! A couple of days ago President Reber called them and said "Can I meet with you? I need some help." So they went and met with him and he let them know that the new president, President Barlow would like to take a tour of the mission when they get there. So they have a very packed itinerary!!! Tuesday they pick up the Barlows and then take the Rebers back to the airport to say goodbye. Then they will meet with the office elders on Wednesday and start the tour of the mission. I think he said San Spena (I could be totally wrong on that one), then Resistencia, Corientes, Formosa, Posades, El Dorado, and they might even get to stop by Iguazu Falls if they time things right! They will be driving 10 hours to some places, and staying in hotels. It's going to feel like a vacation! I teased him that he is in solidarity with us...we are driving to Utah and by the sounds of it he might be driving 33 hours this week too! :) And he thinks they are just going to caravan because they have their daughter with them and it will be too awkward to sit in the back seat with her :)
So there you go. I wish I could be a fly on the wall so I could witness Luke meeting his new President! Can't wait to hear how it goes!!!!
"It's our turn to get off the mission "train"! We have been so humbled by the outpouring of love as we prepare to return home! We love ARGENTINA! We love our MISSIONARIES! We love our dear MEMBERS and FRIENDS! We are leaving a piece of our hearts here and just know how much we love you!"
This elder was in Resistencia and got sick. He had to go home and is now working in the MTC as an interpreter. He was there when all the mission presidents had their big conference/training and got to meet President and Sister Barlow! He sent this picture to Luke
