Prayers answered and preparations....

Luke and Elder Suarez fasted to be able to find more people and this week their prayers were answered!  They found 2 people to start teaching.  One of them, Marcos, they just contacted on the street.  They were able to teach him AND he came to church.  AND he was introduced to some  members that invited him to institute.  So he is already getting fellowshipped, which is good because this week Luke and Elder Suarez are not going to be in their area much as they welcome in the new president and tour the mission.  So Marcos is in good hands! It was quite the week for Luke and Elder Suarez as they are getting ready to say goodbye to the Rebers and welcome in the Barlow's.  Lots to think about!  A couple of days ago President Reber called them and said "Can I meet with you?  I need some help."  So they went and met with him and he let them know that the new president, President Barlow would like to take a tour of the mission when they ge...

Goodbye to old friends, hello to new companion - Elder Suarez!

Luke's good friend Elder Rodriguez finished his mission and left this week!  This is the Elder that is friends with our neighbors up the street, the Wasiks!  And then Luke got to welcome 5 new missionaries!  So fun to be in this position right now to say goodbye's and to welcome the new ones!  Next week is going to be a tear-filled one as he has to say goodbye to his beloved mission president and his sweet wife!   One funny thing happened while they were at the airport.  There was a transgender man there in a dress.  As they walked by President Reber said to Luke and his companion "Nice dress!"  ha ha ha, Luke got a kick out of that! :)  Luke is loving his new companion Elder Suarez.  He is so kind and loving toward people and a great guy.  He is from Paraguay so he has a soft spot in my heart because my brother Tyler served in Paraguay!   That's about it from the week.  Busy busy but doing great! Luke and ...

Transfer board, tender mercies, and feeling the need to change...

Image
Luke and Elder Reyes got a glimpse into all the work President and Sister Reber put in to the transfer board.  They sat there for hours arranging, praying about it, and then rearranging.  Luke saw the thought and love President and Sister Reber put into each missionary.  One Elder lost both of his parents before his mission.  He was having a hard time on the mission and then one night he went to sleep and in his dream he heard his parents voice.  Then a letter came down from heaven from his mom!  What a special tender mercy to a struggling missionary.  There were other circumstances the Rebers were aware of where they knew the needs of missionaries and their need for certain companions.  Such a special experience to be a part of the process and see revelation at work!   Luke's area is still a struggle but they had a couple of tender mercies this week.  One is their friend Vicky came to church!  She is a reference from a member ...
