Sick Sunday :(

 Poor Luke, on Saturday we got to talk to him for Matt's birthday and he mentioned his stomach wasn't feeling great and sure enough on Sunday he was puking and had diarrhea!  UGH!  That's not fun to be going from both ends :(

But he still managed to get himself to church.  He didn't want to let the people down that he has been working with. (Let's hope his stomach bug isn't contagious) :)  He was excited that a part-member family they have been working with came to church.  They haven't been to church in years so that was a big deal!  They have a 10 year old daughter that hasn't been baptized so Luke is excited about the potential there.

Then another bummer part of his week is that Sofia, their friend that just recently got baptized was sitting there talking to the sister missionaries and they were talking about garments.  But it sounds like they weren't talking about them in the most positive light.  So after Sofia went home and called the elders and started yelling at them telling them they didn't tell her about garments and misled her!  She was quite upset and didn't give them even a chance to explain things at all.  Then she hung up on them :(  She didn't come to church Sunday either.  Such a bummer.  So Luke is trying to focus on the positive and not let it get him down.  She is friends with a bunch of members and so he is hoping over time she will have a better understanding and come around.  He did his part in teaching the basics of the gospel and now it is up to her to open her heart.

Gustavo and Natalia are still doing great!  They will be married May 13th and baptized the next week.  They feel like members already!  Luke will find out Sunday if he is staying in the area, so hopefully he will get to see them get baptized!

So the week had its bumps, but still a good week.  The funniest thing was when we were talking to Luke he said "Go open the freezer, do you have any frozen fruit?" ha ha ha!  So I had to open it and show him our frozen strawberries and frozen blueberries and bananas.  Then he wanted me to open the pantry and show him all the different cereals we had :)  So funny the things you appreciate when you don't have them :)  I guess I will have to have the freezer stocked with frozen fruit when he gets home :)  Love that boy!


Yep they found this huge tarantula IN THE FONT!!!!  YIKES!  Luke got it out with a broom!!!

Goodbye to old friends, hello to new companion - Elder Suarez!

 Luke's good friend Elder Rodriguez finished his mission and left this week!  This is the Elder that is friends with our neighbors up the street, the Wasiks!  And then Luke got to welcome 5 new missionaries!  So fun to be in this position right now to say goodbye's and to welcome the new ones!  Next week is going to be a tear-filled one as he has to say goodbye to his beloved mission president and his sweet wife!   One funny thing happened while they were at the airport.  There was a transgender man there in a dress.  As they walked by President Reber said to Luke and his companion "Nice dress!"  ha ha ha, Luke got a kick out of that! :)  Luke is loving his new companion Elder Suarez.  He is so kind and loving toward people and a great guy.  He is from Paraguay so he has a soft spot in my heart because my brother Tyler served in Paraguay!   That's about it from the week.  Busy busy but doing great! Misión Argentina Resistencia 2020-2023 Presidente & Hermana Reber FB Post

  We have had a busy November! On Nov 13th we received 21 missionaries and on the 19th - 20th another 7 missionaries. Some are new missionaries and some are just now getting to come to their assigned mission - they have been waiting and serving in other missions until the borders opened again. We have 79 missionaries and more are coming soon!! We welcome all these wonderful missionaries to the grand Argentina Resistencia Mission!! ¡Hemos tenido un noviembre ajetreado! El 13 de noviembre recibimos a 21 misioneros y del 19 al 20 otros 7 misioneros. Algunos son nuevos misioneros y algunos recién ahora están llegando a su misión asignada; han estado esperando y sirviendo en otras misiones hasta que las fronteras se abrieron nuevamente. ¡Tenemos 79 misioneros y pronto vendrán más! ¡¡Damos la bienvenida a todos estos maravillosos misioneros a la gran Misión Argentina Resistencia !
