Luke's new area...Posadas

Well Luke is loving his new area!  He says it feels like he is in the jungle! And he is loving his new companion Elder Childs.  He said he is super humble and very grateful.   He is always expressing his gratitude!  What a great example!

Already Luke is meeting lots of people and having great discussions.  He met with one lady named Marta who has a niece and nephew that are members, in fact they are recently returned missionaries.  So during the discussions they are very excited and ready to teach everything themselves :)  Marta has been to church several times but this is the first time meeting with the missionaries.  Their first discussion went very well.  She lost her husband and she sincerely wants to know where he is right now.  So they started off with a wonderful discussion on the Plan of Salvation.  During the discussion they sang "Our Savior's Love" and the Spirit was so strong!  After their discussion Luke asked her to pray to know if the things they shared were true and she said "I don't need to pray, I know they are true, the Spirit testified to me!"  Wow!  And then at the end she said "I have a question for you, do you mind if my sister comes to our next discussion?"  WHAT!?  HECK YA!!!  What an exciting discussion to start out in your new area.

They had a busy week with 10 different lessons with members present.  It sounds like the ward is awesome and very involved in the work!  Can't wait to see what adventures await Luke in this new area!!!

Matt had asked Luke how he sees his mission now verses when he was just starting out.  At the beginning Luke was struggling with feeling worthy and capable.  Luke shared that he is so grateful to President Reber, he has helped Luke so much.  And then Luke testified of the Atonement.  He said he teaches it all the time and help people see that they can change and that the Atonement can work in their lives.  And then one day he realized, wait, why don't I believe it for myself????  It was like a light went on and he felt it work in his own life.  He said repentance is not just you changing, but your perspective changes.  What a tender mercy to hear his testimony of our Savior and the Atonement and how it changes lives!  I LOVE Luke's mission!!!
