Luke is getting transferred...heading to Resistencia tomorrow!

 Well Luke is getting transferred this week and is headed to Resistencia.  He is going to miss Formosa, but it has been a great area with a lot of success and great people that he loves and will miss!  So this week he spent a lot of time going around and saying goodbye.  That was until it started to DOWN POUR!  This time even his scriptures got soaked :(  And his new shoes :(  Hopefully he can dry them out and they'll be ok.    So here are some of the pictures of his goodbyes...


This is Juan - he is a cute kid from the ward that loves helping the missionaries.  Once a non-member came into the church and he ran to get Luke and his companion.  His mom Estella Morinigo,  is a single mom with 5 kids.  Luke loves Juan and gave him one of his ties. 

This is Jared and Joelle.  Jared is the Ward Clerk and Luke is always having to bug him for ward lists.  And Joelle is always going on splits with the elders and Luke buys him ice cream after he goes with them.

This is the Gomez family.  She is the Relief Society President.  This family has given Luke and his companion a lot of referrals.  

This is Hermana Robles and her mom.  Her mom is starting to take the lessons.

This is Juan and his family.  His wife Natalie, his son Juan Miguel and Abby.  Luke loves Juan so much and Juan has done so much for the missionaries!  What a great example of a Christ-like servant of the Lord!

This is Lino.  When church ended Luke went up to Lino to tell him that he was being transferred and Lino cried.  Lino is such a neat man and Luke was so grateful to be able to teach him and baptize him!!!

Goodbye to old friends, hello to new companion - Elder Suarez!

 Luke's good friend Elder Rodriguez finished his mission and left this week!  This is the Elder that is friends with our neighbors up the street, the Wasiks!  And then Luke got to welcome 5 new missionaries!  So fun to be in this position right now to say goodbye's and to welcome the new ones!  Next week is going to be a tear-filled one as he has to say goodbye to his beloved mission president and his sweet wife!   One funny thing happened while they were at the airport.  There was a transgender man there in a dress.  As they walked by President Reber said to Luke and his companion "Nice dress!"  ha ha ha, Luke got a kick out of that! :)  Luke is loving his new companion Elder Suarez.  He is so kind and loving toward people and a great guy.  He is from Paraguay so he has a soft spot in my heart because my brother Tyler served in Paraguay!   That's about it from the week.  Busy busy but doing great! A Warm Welcome from a 9 Year Old

 Luke said that it was so sweet because someone they went to teach had a 9 year old that made him a necklace and a little note that said "Thanks for coming to make a happy family."  What a sweet sentiment.  it warmed Luke's heart and he said he'll keep it forever!
