Luke is loving Formosa!

Image
Luke's new companion is named Elder Steuer and he loves him!  He said they are so similar!  He said it is a relief that they are both on the same page and want to work hard.  He doesn't sleep in and is very motivated.  He is a bit overwhelmed that he is now a Zone Leader, but is excited to learn and grow.  He said there are tons of people for them to teach and it's fun to be in a ward instead of a branch.  One day there was a lady outside the church taking pictures of the church.  They talked to her and she didn't realize she was welcome in the church.  She is excited to learn more.  So he will be very busy in this new area! :) Luke said there is a cat that always wanders into their apartment and if you grab it by the neck it kind of paralyzes him :)  He sent this funny picture

Luke's wallet was found!!!

I don't know if I posted that Luke lost his wallet the other day.  They were running to catch a bus and he thinks it fell out.  He texted me to cancel his card.  Such a bummer because he had his missionary card that gives them the right to proselyte in Argentina and his Argentina identification, along with his missionary bank card.  I had a feeling I should hold off on canceling his card.  It would be such a bummer because it wouldn't be easy to get him a new one.  I had a feeling it would show up some how.  The missionaries stick out like a sore thumb and I was hopeful someone would find it and return it!   WELL....all of a sudden I got this text from Luke.  I guess an Elder from another mission that he doesn't even know sent him this message on FB!!!! WHAT A MIRACLE!!!!

Luke is getting transferred!!!!

Image
Well Luke is getting transferred and is going to Formosa.  It's funny because Luke's companion was sure he was going to be the one to get transferred.  But President called and told Luke he was leaving.  His companion was actually asleep, he fell asleep during study time, and so he didn't hear the news.  Luke didn't tell him and thought he could find out when all the transfer news would come out later in the day.  So all day Luke would say to Elder Moulton "Maybe we ought to do this different in this area" or "Maybe we ought to do this to our apartment" and Elder Moulton would say "You mean YOU, because I'm not going to be here."  :)  Luke had to chuckle to himself because he knew he was actually the one leaving :) So he is going to Formosa and is going to be a Zone Leader!!!!! I'm so excited for him!  Can't wait to hear how his 8 hour bus ride goes and how he likes his new companion and new area!!! This will be his new Zone! H...

Tender Mercies

This week past week Luke was struggling a bit and said nothing was working.  They were trying to contact people and no one seemed interested.  He decided to kneel down and pray and to go on faith.  They were finishing up their day around 8:30 pm and were on their way home.  They were walking through a very sketchy neighborhood and as they were passing by a house they remembered that they had contacted someone a month or so ago that seemed a little bit interested and they just hadn't had the chance to go back to them so they thought they would stop by.  They knocked and a guy told them to come in.  It was a very humble house.  There was a man there and he said his wife was busy putting the kids to bed.  Soon she came out and joined them so they started to share a message on faith.  The couple seemed tuned in and the discussion was going well.  Then they shared about the Book of Mormon with them and soon the wife asked "How do you ge...

Quick Check In

Lots of awesome experiences lately! Rubén and Pierina were baptized! Fun Asado with my good friend President Moreyra, miracles, and learning how God works! I feel extremely blessed. I love the gospel. Learning and knowing Jesus Christ and his love for God´s children, as well as the infinite love that God has for us is something I will cherish forever. The refiner's fire that is the mission is sometimes tough, but I am forever grateful for my mission service for the Lord. The gospel changes people for good. Weekly and daily spiritual experiences are so important. Email me! I love and miss you all. I hope you are all doing well physically, spiritually, and mentally.
