How's it going ya´ll!! It has been way too long so I apologize. Things are going great here in Corrientes. I hit my 6 month mark a week from now! I don´t know where the time went but here we are. Elder Camacho and I have been working super hard. Not going to lie, this transfer was a tough one and I had a lot of little challenges to overcome but it has also been such a joy to work here and help people receive the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It is so cool because here in Corrientes we are super close to becoming a stake and a ward in Armenia. It is really cool to work with the leaders here and help them plan and readjust their focus to help achieve these goals. We started out my time here with 52 church attendance on average, and we are now doubled that on average. It is really amazing to see the lord reward the efforts of the saints here.
Erika and Sandra Marassi were baptized in this transfer too! Sandra has been an investigador for over 13 years! Has a strong testimony of the book of mormon but for some reason did not want to be baptized! Really weird. So many missionaries have been working and preparing this family over the past 13 years so it was really cool to be their for them at the beginning of this path following Jesus Christ for their first covenant of baptism. They have been studying their scriptures every morning and are working on getting family history work done in the temple for Sandra´s parents! I am so happy for them. I brought a set of nice scriptures with me on the mission to gift to a special person and I didn´t hold on to them too long because I knew I had to gift it to Erika and Sandra and they are super grateful which is cool! Reading everyday is going to help them to have peace in a complicated world. Things are going great and we are finding lots of chosen families and people. we had a friend named Oscar travel an hour on a bus for church yesterday! We are super excited for him because he was seriously so excited to be in the chapel for the first time. He has been wanting to come to church for a while and said he felt so much peace that he has needed for a long time. We are so excited for his baptism in two weeks!! Veronica and Daiana Barrientos are getting baptized next week too! They are an awesome family and we have been working with them for since Elder Ramos! Miracles are happening in Armenia.
*SKIP HERE IF YOU DONT WANT TO READ EVERYTHING*If I had to pinpoint one thing these past 6 months that I have learned, it would have to be that we have a living and mindful Heavenly Father. He knows you by name. Knows your struggles, thoughts, and feelings. He cares about how YOU are doing. He is proud of you, forgives and forgets quickly. He wants you to be happy and knows you better than anybody. Your struggles and challenges are not meant to be dealt with alone. We are in a fallen world, but God knows this and for that reason sent his son Jesus Christ to overcome death and sin! The covenants we make with God are the only way we can find everlasting peace and joy in this life. The covenants I have made with my Heavenly Father give divine Godly power in times when life has its challenges. God lives!
Let me know how you are doing! I love you all and have an awesome week.
Elder Rose
