A couple of funny things from our call today....
I absolutely LOVE Mondays!!!! In fact I have learned that I need to make sure I have NOTHING planned on Monday's because I don't know if Luke is going to have stories for hours or if he needs to go and do other things. So I just leave Mondays wide open.
Today Luke was over the moon excited that Maxi came to church. (his email tells the details) I love how much effort he put in to get him there. I hope and pray that Maxi will continue to make changes in his life! What a blessing the gospel is if you just grasp onto it and let Christ change you.
Luke got up in church and bore his testimony and talked about a scripture in 3 Nephi 22:10 that says "For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee." Then Luke talked about how this life is going to continue to get worse and worse but the Lord is there for us. So we can't wait for things to slow down or hardships to be removed before we go to church or keep our covenants. We need to do it now so the Lord will bless us. I thought that was such a beautiful testimony and such a reminder to do the things we need to do no matter what trials are before us.
Luke is the District leader and so he checks in with the elders and sisters in his district. He has to check their phones to see where they spend their time. The poor sisters, one sister doesn't know English and the other is new to the mission and hardly knows Spanish! So he said one day they had spent 3 hours on Facebook doing proselyting that way, 2 hours in their area book doing work, and then an hour and a half on Google Translate! :) ha ha ha! funny stuff
Another funny, but appalling story..... One day Elder Camacho had a tie on that he had received from an Elder that once served in his ward when he was younger. The zone leader was in their area that day and say his tie and said "Oh hey let me see your tie, what does it say???" They looked closer and it had the "F" word ALL OVER IT!!!! WHAT IN THE WORLD? What a little stinker! I can't believe this Elder did this years ago! Luke said "Now you know the title Elder doesn't always mean what it should!" Thank goodness he didn't wear that tie the day before at his new missionary training with the mission president! :) ha ha ha! Unbelievable!
Elder Rose was in good spirits. He is learning so much and has so much responsibilities. Man the church is true and the Lord is definitely in the details of this work! LOVE IT!
