Surprise call from Luke at Natalia's house

 I was setting up at the church for the Ward party and all of a sudden my phone rang and it was Luke!  He was at a member's house that he refers to as his second mom.  She wanted to meet me!  So I got to talk to Natalia and her son Valentino who is best bud's with Luke.  So fun to see them interacting and they mentioned multiple times how much they love him.  

That made my day and warmed my mom heart!

Goodbye to old friends, hello to new companion - Elder Suarez!

 Luke's good friend Elder Rodriguez finished his mission and left this week!  This is the Elder that is friends with our neighbors up the street, the Wasiks!  And then Luke got to welcome 5 new missionaries!  So fun to be in this position right now to say goodbye's and to welcome the new ones!  Next week is going to be a tear-filled one as he has to say goodbye to his beloved mission president and his sweet wife!   One funny thing happened while they were at the airport.  There was a transgender man there in a dress.  As they walked by President Reber said to Luke and his companion "Nice dress!"  ha ha ha, Luke got a kick out of that! :)  Luke is loving his new companion Elder Suarez.  He is so kind and loving toward people and a great guy.  He is from Paraguay so he has a soft spot in my heart because my brother Tyler served in Paraguay!   That's about it from the week.  Busy busy but doing great! A Warm Welcome from a 9 Year Old

 Luke said that it was so sweet because someone they went to teach had a 9 year old that made him a necklace and a little note that said "Thanks for coming to make a happy family."  What a sweet sentiment.  it warmed Luke's heart and he said he'll keep it forever!
