Elder Rose - Argentina Resistencia Mission Nov. 2021 - Nov. 2023

This week Luke had the awesome opportunity of meeting with Elder Christensen of  the Area Presidency.  Sadly he was supposed to fly in and meet in person but his flight was canceled because of weather.  He told Luke he was going to try to meet him in person before Luke leaves.  The meeting was with President and Sister Barlow and the two APs.  I think it was a meeting checking in with the new mission president and seeing how things were going.  Sister Christensen urged Luke and Elder Suarez to promise to read the Book of Mormon everyday for the first year after they get off their missions. This was a cute picture drawn from a little 9 year old girl named Nicole that has been coming back to church thanks to the Ward Mission Leader picking her up. Luke was excited that they had all 6 converts at church on Sunday!   The zone conferences started and so Luke had to give his LAST TESTIMONY (well the first of the lasts, he will be bearing it at eac...

Luke got some great news this week....the Marassi Family, from his very first area, went to the temple!!!   Luke was able to reflect and go back in his journal from when he first met the Marassi's.  It was such a miracle, tons of missionaries had tried to work with the family and the timing was just right when he and his companion showed up.  Luke said "It's amazing how the Lord used unperfect people to work this miracle"  He laughed that he was so new and was making so many mistakes, it's amazing the Lord was still able to use him to open doors for this family. Now Brother Marassi is a counselor in the branch presidency and Sister Marassi is the RS secretary!  So amazing to see the change it has brought to their family! Luke had a great week.   Dianella is still doing great!  She went to church again on Sunday and her mom has no problem with her getting baptized.  So things are really looking promising.   The rest of the...

Well it's starting...Luke's "lasts" in the mission.  This week was his last Mission Leadership Council.  In fact President Barlow asked him if he wanted to bear his testimony since it was his last and it caught him off guard so he said he would wait until his last Zone Conference instead.  This is getting real! Another week of miracles.  One day Luke and his companion were walking down the street and Luke saw a guy and had a prompting to go talk to him.  He ignored the prompting and kept walking.  He thought about that afterward and was a little bummed he didn't follow the prompting.  So then when they saw the guy AGAIN in the street you better believe Luke ran to catch up with him and talk to him.  He told him he felt prompted to talk to him and asked if he had a minute.  Come to find out the guy is an inactive member that was baptized in Formosa about 5 years ago.  He has since moved to Resistencia and is living with his sister....
